This year, we can flip the Georgia State House – one of the two chambers that make up Georgia’s State Legislature. Democrats hold 81 seats, and winning 10 more hands us the majority – that would make it the first chamber not under Republican control since 2004.
Laws passed in the State House affect daily life in Georgia – it’s where decisions are made on school funding, health care, housing, taxes, public safety, policing and sentencing, reproductive freedom, voting rules, and much more.
Who we elect determines whether lawmakers focus on what Georgians need or use their power to help themselves.
Georgia families deserve a State House focused on lowering costs, expanding opportunity, and protecting our freedoms – not politicians who use power to help themselves.

Georgia Democrats have been building toward a Democratic State House majority for years. We picked up 11 State House seats in 2018, helped elect a Democratic president, and two Democratic U.S. senators in 2020, and we've kept gaining ground since, winning more State House seats in each election since.
From rural districts across Georgia to suburban counties surrounding Atlanta, Black, Latino, and AAPI communities are growing – and their votes will help decide if the State House will flip.
The ground is shifting in Georgia. In 2025, we flipped two Public Service Commission (PSC) seats, our first statewide constitutional wins in nearly twenty years, and a month later, in a special election, we took a State House seat in territory Trump won by a comfortable 12% margin. Looking closer at the PSC numbers: in Forsyth County, where Trump won 67% of the vote in 2024, the GOP margin fell by about 10 points, and in Paulding and Columbia counties, where Republicans usually clear 60%, our PSC candidates finished ahead. Even in longtime Republican strongholds, the margins are closing and voters are moving our way.
The seats we need are within reach. When we back strong candidates, show up to volunteer, and turn out to vote, we can win. This is our moment, and it starts with you.
